Tasting Notes
A traditional Paso Robles favorite, this year's Monster zin is perhaps the finest ever bottled! Intense aromas of raspberry jam and blackberry are balanced with spicy notes of pepper and fennel. Full-bodied, the robust berry and plum flavors led to a lengthy finish of caramel and molasses. The moderate residual sugar makes this the ideal wine for rich chocoalte desserts or fireside sipping. Enjoy now or age until 2018.

Vintage 2006
With lower than average rainfall and moderate summer weather, ripening was slow and even, Harvest was spread out from late August until the end of October, so each varietal was picked at optimum ripeness, and was given individual attention during the critical stages of fermentaion and early stroage, Overall, an excellent vintage that focuses on fruitiness and complexity from the Paso Robles terroir.

Winemaking
This spectacular vintage is a blend of eight Zinfandel vineyards ranging in age fom 15 to 80 years old. Crushed, fermented and barrel-aged separately, we harvested each ranch at peak ripeness and using gentle cap irrigation, extracted the best flavors without harsh tannins. Blended right before bottling, including a small amount of Petite Sirah to round out the finish, enough bottle aging was given before release to result in a fabulous wine with robust fruit, body and flavors.
